Clayton Smith Retires After More Than 40 Years at Cornell

Cornell recently gathered to celebrate Clayton Smith's retirement after over 40 years of service. Clayton began his career at Cornell as a CNC Operator in June 1981 and retired as a Manufacturing Engineer on August 2, 2024.

Throughout his tenure, he taught numerous Cornell Pump operators the intricacies of CNC production and programming. He also spent more than 30 years as an instructor at Clackamas Community College, sharing his CNC expertise with students.

In his retirement, Clayton looks forward to traveling, photography, camping, and spending time with his wife and adult children. We wish him all the best, with much-deserved happiness and health in this new chapter.
